Memorial Friday for Jelineks
Memorial services for Otto T. Jelinek and his wife, Alice, both musicians, will be at 4 p.m. Friday in the First Congregational Church at Western Springs, 106 Chestnut, Western Springs.
The Jelineks, of 4738 Franklin, Western Springs, were killed Monday in a car crash in La Grange.
Mr. Jelinek, a violinist and conductor, was music director of both the American Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra and the Chicago Businessmen's Orchestra. He also played violin with The Grant Park Symphony Orchestra and with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra.
He taught music until last spring at both Kennedy-King College and the American Conservatory of Music. He been chairman of the music department at Grinnell College in Iowa, and a teacher of violin at the University of Iowa.
MRS. JELINEK, 61, was a cellist who formerly taught cello at the Illinois Benedictine College, Lisle, and taught at the time of her death at the American Conservatory of Music. She was a member of the Chicago Chamber Music Society and the Hinsdale Music Club.
Survivors include a son, Thomas, and a daughter, Katherine. Mrs. Jelinek also is survived by a son, Edward Eversole, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Kenady.
