c. Charles Starnes (born ca 1796, died ca 1880) married (1st) Elizabeth Thompson (born ca 1779, died ca 1856), and (2d) Margaret Starnes on November 25, 1856).
d. Frederick Starnes.
e. William F. Starnes.
f. Nancy Starnes.
g. Sarah Starnes married Mr. Chandler.
h. Elizabeth Starnes married Jeremiah Pearson.
i. Paul Fisher Starnes (born December 16, 1807, died February 22, 1897) married Martha Q. Lane (born February 22, 1811, died August 22, 1888) on September 6, 1835.
NOTE: The minutes of the Court of Rowan County, North Carolina states that on February 7, 1784, Frederick Sterns, orphan of Frederick Sterns, deceased, was indentured to Jacob Brown to learn the trade of waggonmaster. The descendants of Frederick Starnes, III are from the estate records of Mary Fisher Starnes, widow of Frederick Starnes, III in Wilcox County, Alabama, and deeds recorded in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
NOTE: Marion Pomery Carlock, in his book History of the Carlock Family, (Wm. B. Straube Printing Co., Inc., Los Angeles, California, 1929), p. 436 asserts that Caroline Carlock (born ca 1717) who was the daughter of David Carlock (who settled in the Shenandoah Valley by 1741) married Frederick Starnes. I have found no documentation for this assertion. It is not clear from the reference whether he was referring to Frederick Starnes, Sr. or Frederick Starnes, Jr. There is nothing to indicate that Carlock knew that there were two Frederick Starnes. This note is placed here because Carlock's estimated date of birth for Caroline is closer to that of Frederick, Jr. than that of Frederick, Sr.
