On the other hand, according to the above information from Hales, Thomas Glyn, The Hales Chronicles, 3rd Ed., Tucson, AZ: Privately Printed, 2008, p. 706, James was married about 1763 to Martha Elizabeth HASTY, a daughter of James HASTY.]

(3) James HALE is probably listed in a household headed by his son, Silas HALE, in the 1830 census of Clarke County, GA.
Living in Silas' household is a free white male who was then between 90 and 100 years of age; therefore, according to the 1830 census, he was born between 1830 and 1840. This aged male was probably Silas' father, James HALE, who was then about 92 years of age.
