JACK H. CASTLEMAN
A graveside service for Jack H. Castleman, 65, will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the North I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Marshall with the Rev. Donald Pemp officiating under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
He was born Feb, 26, 1933, at Hollis to Emma and Henry Castleman and died Thursday, May 28, 1998, in Highland Park Manor Nursing Home.
He was raised in Hollis and attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with a degree in journalism. He served in the armed forces from 1954-56 in Japan, where he edited the Stars and Stripes Magazine. He worked for the Washington Post and Dallas newspaper before coming to Enid in 1964. He married Ruby McCracken Stoops on Sept. 2, 1971. He worked for the Enid News & Eagle until his retirement. He continued doing freelance writing for several years. He served on the Enid Public Library Board for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby, of the home; two sisters, Anne Curtright of Borger, Texas, Tressie Kelly of Noble; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
