John D. Van Horn, son of Daniel I. Van Horn . . . by his wife Pieterje Alyea, was probably born at Paramus. He was a carpenter and lived in the Van Horn house in northeast Paramus. He died 2 Nov. 1881, aged 80/5/2, and was buried in the Paramus True Reformed Churchyard at Ridgewood. He married Elizabeth Haring, born 24 Sept. 1807, baptized 22 Oct. 1807 at Tappan, N.Y., died 20 March 1893, aged 86/5/27, daughter of Cornelius I. and Elizabeth (Salyer) Haring.
Child:
i. Daniel J., b. 8 June 1832, d. 15 July 1907, bur. at Ridgewood; m. (1) Rachel Ann Quackenbush, (2) Harriet J. Simpson.
