BLACKKETTER, 91, were held on Saturday, August 25 at 2 p.m. in Roberts Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Edwin BEAM, pastor of the Christian church officiating. Mr. BLACKKETTER was born February 23, 1871 in Columbus, Ind., the son of John W. and Maria BLACKKETTER and died August 22, 1962, in a Stilwell rest home, following a long illness. He spent his younger life in Indiana, and at the age of 27, he homesteaded at Leedy, Okla. In 1901, he was married to Miss Lola SLOUGH, to this union three boys and two girls were born. Mrs. BLACKKETTER died in 1925. In September 1932 he married Pearl NEWMAN, who died in 1936. He and Maud SHIPMAN were married in 1941 and they lived in Westville until the time of his death. For thirty-six years he was an employee of the MK.T. Railroad. He had been a member of the Christian church in Westville for six years. Interment was in the Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Lee COLLINS, Thomas BRIGHT, Lee MARCUM, Hardy COMSTOCK, Hill ANDERSON, and Bill DAVIS. Flower bearers were Mrs. Crystal CARLTON, Mrs. Maudie JEFFRIES, Mrs. Charley RUSSELL and Mrs. Joe LANGLEY.
