  Notes	(1) Hendrickson, John B., Hendrickson and Allied Families: Genealogical and Biographical, New York, NY: The American Historical Company, Inc., 1969, p. 1: Harman Hendrickson, the first to adopt the surname, was born in Holland in 1612, and died between 1674 and 1677. He was first of record in 1648 as a resident of New Amsterdam. Later he settled in Flatbush, Long Island, and in 1663 was a petitioner to the Director-General and Council for permission to establish the village of New Lotts, now part of Brooklyn. He was a cooper by trade. Harman Hendrickson married in Holland, Egbertie Jans Brocq, of Amsterdam, who died in 1679. She married (second), Jan Snediker.
