He married 29 June 1809 Sarah Ann "Sallie" Hubbell (Hubble), b. 23 Dec. 1793 in Washington Co., Va., d. 9 Aug. 1850 in Pulaski Co., Ky. (daughter of Joel and Elizabeth Johnson Hubble). They are buried in a family cemetery-Hiway #39 - Dabney, Pulaski Co., Kentucky (Manford Price Farm). "Conrad Starns, inherited the favorite saddle horse from his great-uncle, Conrad Carlock, when he died in 1811. He emigrated to Pulaski County, Ky., and operated a general store he made overland buying trips to Louisville, Ky., using ox teams and covered wagons to haul back his wares. He also owned slaves."
