She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Indianapolis, the Alliance of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Propylaeum, the English-Speaking Union, the Holcomb House Garden Club, the Phi Mu fraternity, the Hanover College 1827 Society, the Jefferson County Historical Society and Historic Madison Inc. Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Kiffmeyer and Mary Balph, both of Madison, and Marcia Belt of Indianapolis; one sister, Nerine Cooper of Madison; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and in 1999 by her husband, George C.
