H.), daughter of Capt. Moodie of Edinburgh, Scotland. He grad. B. A., Harvard College, 1872, and was principal of the Lewiston Academy, Lewiston, Pa., where his wife also taught, 1872-73. He moved to San Francisco and became a writer on the San Francisco Bulletin, Aug. 1873 to Sept. 1875. He then became city editor of the Daily Evening Post, remaining until June 1, 1884, when he went on the staff of the Daily Report, but shortly resigned because of ill health. In 1877 he was Secretary of the Harvard Club of San Francisco. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention and in 1884 was city campaign manager in San Francisco. He was author of Sumptuary Laws, 1884. He died May 5, 1885, and his family returned to Lawrence, where Mrs. Frost maintained a private school. Children: . . .
