      Death of Josiah Geiselman.

      Josiah Geiselman died at his borne in Plymouth last evening, after many months of illness, of heart trouble and complications. Funeral services will be held in that city Saturday, and the interment will take place at the Bremen cemetery Saturday afternoon.

      Mr. Geiseirnan was one of the very first settlers on the present site of Bremen, and lived here continuonsly until a few years ago. He was born in Starke [Stark] county, Ohio, Dec. 19, 1826. In 1834 he came with his parents to Indiana and settled in what was at that time the wilderness of St. Joseph county. Here he grew up on the farm and learned his father's trade of blacksmithing. In 1846 he moved to the present site of Bremen and two years later erected a blacksmith shop in a log cabin on the present site of J.R. Dietrich & Co's. block. This was the second building in the infant town, the other being the house of Mr. Pomeroy. In 1849 he married Mary Ringle, and seven children survive him. Mr. Geiselman was engaged In blacksmithing, farming and the sat mill business by turns until about ten years ago, when he moved froin here to Culver, and later to Plymouth. He and his wife were members of the United Brethren church and always held in high esteem here.
