THOMMEN, 73, Logansport, died this morning at 8:30 a.m. in Memorial hospital at Logansport. Born Jan. 4, 1903, in Carroll county, she was the daughter of Marcellu[s?] and Sarah BURNS JOHNSON. A retired school teacher, she was married Aug. 19, 1929, in Kankakee, Ill., to Lucius C. THOMMEN, who died May 8, 1976. Mrs. Thommen taught at Noble township, Metea, Royal Center, and Peru. She was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian church in Logansport, the Fulton Eastern Star, Ladies of the Elks at Logansport and Hospital Guild at Logansport. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Margaret BRANNAN, Elkhart, and Mrs. Lee ECKERLE, Zionsville, three brothers, James and Delbert JOHNSON, both of North Manchester, and Claude JOHNSON, Sarona, Wis., and nieces and nephews. Rites will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum funeral home in Loganspo[r]t with the Rev. Earl DAVIDSON officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Rochester. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
