James ("Jim") Oddvin GUNDERSON Died on 12/14/2010 in hospice in Seattle, Wa, after battling cancer for two months. Survived by wife, Judith ("Judy") Kay Gunderson; son, Gary James Gunderson, son, Eric Archie Gunderson; five grandchildren: Kyle, Ryan, Sam, Gabriella, and Coltrane. Born June 2, 1937 in Enumclaw, Wa. Began his career in computers with IBM in 1960 at Cape Canaveral, Florida. Retired from Esterline Corporation, as Director of Management Information Systems, in 1997, in Bellevue, Wa. Served in the U.S. Coast Guard 1960-1961, attended John F. Kennedy's Presidential Inauguration in full dress uniform, carrying the Alaska state flag. Graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1955, Salutatorian. Attended Pacific Lutheran University. Graduated from Stetson University in Deland, Florida (Bachelors degree), Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Graduated from University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa (Masters and Ph.D.). Board member of Faith Lutheran Church, Seattle, Wa. Board member of Port Ludlow Computer Genealogy Society.
