Irvin STEININGER, 85, R.R. 3, Rochester, died about noon today in Woodlawn hospital. Arrangements are pending at the Foster & Good funeral home.

Final rites for Irvin J. STEININGER, who died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Foster & Good funeral home.
The Revs. Robert SEITZ and Walter MAYER will officiate and burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Rochester. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Masonic Lodge 79 will conduct memorial services at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Steininger, 85, had been a patient at the hospital for 10 days and was ill for three years.
Born Sept. 17, 1884, at Berne, he was the son of Howard and Eliza BEEHLER STEININGER. His marriage was April 15, 1906 at Logansport to Ruby M. BUNKER, who survives.
Mr. Steininger had lived in the Elkhart area since 1967 moving there from South Bend. In the summer, his residence was in Richland township. He was a custodian of Lydic school for 20 years and retired in 1951. He was a member of the United Methodist church of Lydic, Terre Coupee Lodge F & AM of New Carlisle and William Hacker RAM Chapter 63 of Auburn.
Surviving with the wife are one daughter, Mrs. Thelma L. PHILLIPS, Elkhart; one son, Hugh E. [STEININGER], South Bend; two brothers, Herman [STEININGER], Rochester, and the Rev. George STEININGER, Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Two sisters a[n]d two brothers preceded in death.
