Kirkland, 1977-1988, vol. 1, p. 364: EMILDRED "AMELIA"/"MILLY" KIRKLAND . . . lived to be 90 and was blind the last few years of her life. Her death was caused by being burned, while reaching along the mantle for a pair of scissors, catching her clothing on fire. (2) According to Patricia A. West , "Daniel Kirkland, b 1783 SC - d 1863 AL," St. Louis: Unpublished manuscript, 2006, a decree was entered by the Morgan County, AL Probate Court on 4 December 1865, probating the will of Daniel KIRKLAND. The decree states that Daniel's daughter, "Milly Easly and husband, William Easly," had been notified of the probating of the will. (3) Mildred EASLEY is listed in a household headed by her son-in-law, William W. HEARD, in the 1900 census of Henry Precinct, Pickens County, AL. Mildred is listed in the 1900 census as a widow who was born in November 1814 and was then 85 years of age. According to the 1900 census, she was born in TN, her father was born in SC, and her mother was born in TN. According to the 1900 census, she had theretofore given birth to 1 child, who was then living.
