      Martinsburg Woman Painfully Cut and Bruised

      Martinsburg, April 13.--Mrs. W. G. Tibbetts received severe cuts and bruises on both legs when the Ford coupe in which she was riding overturned on highway No. 149, northeast of Martinsburg, Monday morning.

      The door of the car was jarred open and Mrs. Tibbetts, who was driving, lost control of the auto when she attempted to close the door. The car left the road and turned over in the grader ditch.

      Edward Warren and M. Bottorf were the first to reach the scene of the accident and took Mrs. Tibbetts back to Martinsburg form where she was taken to Hedrick for X-ray pictures to determine the extent of her injuries.

      No bones were found to have been broken but both knees and legs were badly bruised.

      Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Wm Tibbitts [sic] of New London at the Burlington Hospital Tuesday night. No further details are known at this time. Mrs. Ben Porter and Mrs. George Denny left Wednesday morning for New London to be with the family.

      HEDRICK--Mrs. William Tibbetts, 69, formerly of Martinsburg, died Wednesday in a hospital in Burlington.

      The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Elliot Chapel in New London. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery northeast of Martinsburg at 1:30 p.m.

      Services for Mrs. Mary Leona Tibbetts, 69, of New London, who departed at 3 a.m. Sept. 25th, at Mercy hospital, will be held at the Elliott Chapel at 11 a.m. (CST) Sept. 27th. Rev. Clarence Morrison will officiate and interment will be in Mt. Zion cemetery at Martinsbur, Iowa. Friends may call at the Chapel Thursday P.M.

      Rites Friday for Mrs. Tibbetts

      Mrs. William Tibbetts, 69, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday morning at Merch hospital, Burlington, where she had been a patient nine days.

      Mary Leona Tibbetts was born June 1, 1894 at Martinsburg, the daughter of Belle Eckelberry and Elmer Hutton. She was married December 17, 1913 at Martinsburg to William G. Tibbetts. For the past 14 years, they have lived in New London.

      Mrs. Tibbetts was a member of the Methodist church, W.S.C.S., and Royal Neighbors.

      Surviving besides her husband are two brothers, Cecil Hutton, Allie, and Doyle Hutton. Hedrick. A brother and two sisters are deceased.

      Services for Mrs. Tibbetts wll be held at 11 a.m. C.S.T. Friday, September 27, in the Elliott Chapel. The Rev. Clarence Morrison will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Zion cemetery, Martinsburg.
