FROST COMES AT HOME ON MAPLE ST., AT AGE OF 77 YEARS RETIRED FARMER MOVED HERE NINE YEARS AGO FROM ENID OK - WIFE AND 10 CHILDREN SURVIVE James R. Frost, 77 years old, died at his home, 1155 S. Maple St. at 1:30 o'clock this morning following an extended illness. He had been bedfast eight weeks and in failing health for one year. Mr. Frost was a retired farmer. He moved to Carthage nine years ago from Enid, OK. He was born in Lee County, Iowa, March 25, 1849. Mr. Frost has been an active member of the Christian Church of this city, having served as an elder for some time. Surviving Mr. Frost are his wife, Ellen L. Frost, and the following children, Mrs. W. T. Millsted, Beaconsfield, IA; Fred Frost, Anselmo, NE; James Frost, Bison, OK; Clyde Frost, Joplin, MO; Frank Frost, Carthage, MO; Mrs. Ethel Jones, Hillsdale, OK; Mrs. J. E. Downey, Carthage, MO; Mrs. R. E. Hooker, Carthage, MO; Dewey Frost, Brooklyn, NY; and Donald Frost, who is a student at William Jewell college at Liberty, MO. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. EDWARD & HARBOUR Funeral services for J. R. Frost were held at the First Christian Church at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. Dr. Ben M. Edwards, pastor, had charge and was assisted by the Rev. Dr. George F. Harbour, pastor of the Main Street Presbyterian church. Mr. Frost before his death had made a special request that Dr. Harbour assist in the services. The funeral was largely attended. Mrs. Roy Shelton and Mrs. Victor Geisert sang the funeral hyms while Mrs. Cora May Jeffords played the accompaniments. Pallbearers were B. F. Hackney, Eugene Frakes, Elmer Trowbridge, W. A. Gadberry, Frank Selsor and J. C. Wyatt. Burial was in Park cemetery, Carthage, MO.
