(9) Obituary of Joseph Franklin ["Frank"] HALE that appeared in an unknown newspaper, probably an Enid, OK newspaper:
OBITUARY
Joseph Franklin Hale was born January 25, 1859, near New London, Henry county, Iowa, and departed this life Wednesday, August 24, 1927. Age, 68 years, 6 months and 29 days.
He grew to manhood in the vicinity of his birth, where on December 22, 1881, he was united in marriage to Miss Susie Marchant. To this happy union were born six children, three sons and three daughters.
He was the only son of Richard and Melinda Hale. Two sisters preceded him to the heavenly home. Two sisters remain to mourn the loss of a dear brother, Mrs. Mary Stretsbury of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Della Reid of Lockridge, Iowa.
Mr. Hale was a devoted husband, a kind, loving father, and always interested in the welfare of his family, and no task was too hard for him to undertake to help his fellowman. He was a faithful and active member of the Congregational church for many years.
Mr. Hale had been in failing health for several months and knew his stay on earth was short. He expressed his regret at leaving his family but said he was ready to go, for he had made his peace with God. It was while on a visit last Wednesday to his daughter, Mrs. Clara Frost of Bison, that without warning the death angel came. He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife, three sons, Roy W. Hale of Hillsdale, Don E. Hale of near Marshall and Claude C. Hale of Wichita. Three daughters, Mrs. Clara Frost of Bison, Mrs. Flossie Barkley and Miss Grace Hale of the home; two sisters, ten grandchildren and a host of friends who will miss him.
Dearest father thou hast left us,
And thy loss we deeply feel,
But 'tis God who has bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal.
