[Comments from Janice McAlpine on 23 May 2016:
The information about Elizabeth's mother is incorrect. Elizabeth Buchanan Frost was the daughter of William Buchanan's first wife, Catherine McCaleb. William and Catherine married about 5 March 1773 (date of bond) in Guilford Co., North Carolina.(North Carolina County Registers of Deeds. Microfilm. Record Group 048. North Carolina State Archives, Raleigh, NC.) Catherine McCaleb Buchanan died about 1780 and William Buchanan had a second marriage to Frances Montgomery. He died in 1795 and his widow Frances and his former brother-in-law, James McCaleb, administered his estate. (Estate Papers, 1780-1926 (Rockingham County), North Carolina. Division of Archives and History, Raleigh, North Carolina.) Catherine McCaleb's mother was Catherine Sanders/Sanderson. That is why Elizabeth Buchanan Frost named a daughter Catherine Sanders Frost. My husband is descended from James McCaleb and I have done a lot of research on this family. As far as I know, Elizabeth's father was never married to Sarah Paschal. I don't even know where that name came from. Because both Ancestry and FamilySearch are now linking to Find a Grave, it is really important to make sure that the information in the memorial is accurate. Unfortunately, the individual who wrote this memorial has died and I cannot give her this information directly.]
