Mr. Thomas Webster
1508 Ordway Place
Nahsville, Tennessee.
Dear Sir:
The record of Micajah Frost is found in the papers on file in his claim for pension, S. 31043, based upon his service in the Revolutionary War.
Micajah Frost was born in the year 1762, day not named, in Bedford County, Virginia, about three miles from Lynchburg. The names of his parents are not shown.
While a resident of Washington County, Virginia, he volunteered, date not given but it was called "the warm winter", and served three months in Captain William Eilliot's Virginia company, was engaged against the Cherokee Indians, took several of their towns, and was wounded by an arrow during an engagement with them on the Hiwassee River; he volunteered in 1780, served three months in Captain Finley's Virginia company and was in the battle of Kings Mountain; he enlisted in 1782 and served two months as a spy in Captain Trimble's Virginia company, was engaged in guarding the frontier on the Clinch River at Castlewoods; he volunteered again in the same year, and served two months as a spy in Captain Dorton's Virginia company, at the same place.
He resided in Washington County, Virginia, until sometime in 1795, when he moved to Tennessee; he remained there until 1828, when he moved to Rockcastle County, Kentucky.
He was allowed pension on his application executed November 26, 1832, at which time he was a resident of Rockastle County, Kentudky.
There are no data in regard to the soldier's family.
In order to obtain the date of last payment of pension, name of person to whom it was paid, and possibly the date of death of the pensioner, Micajah Frost, you should apply to The Comptroller General, General Accounting Office, Records Divison, this city, citing the following data:

• Thomas Micajah, B: c 1795 Mrd: Nancy Adkins, B. c 1785, both in VA, probably in Cumberland Co., KY, about 1809 where her father, Wyatt Adkins, Sr., had land. Thomas Micajah was back in Anderson Co., Tennessee, before 1810, where he and Jesse Adkins, brother of Nancy, bought and had surveyed, 130 acres, recorded 12 Mar 1810, (Gilbert Harold Frost was born 10 Nov 1810 in Anderson Co.). They stayed here until after 27 Nov 1816. The area had been included in White Co., TN, at that time and Andrew Jackson Frost (son of Thomas Micajah and Nancy Adkins) was born in Sparta, White Co., TN, on that date. (Gilbert named his second son Andrew Jackson Frost.) Some time after that date and before 1819, Thomas Micajah Frost and family and the Adkins families, Wyatt Sr., Wyatt Jr., Owen, James and William and probably more daughters, were in Gallatin Co., IL, tax list, by 1821. They all were in Ray Co., MO, and in 1822 were in Clay Co., MO, where Gilbert Harold Frost and Elizabeth Cogdill were married 11 Nov 1829. Jesse Adkins stayed in Tennessee.
By 1838 Thomas 1745 [Micajah FROST?] was dead as in the will of Wyatt Adkins, Sr., then of Cass Co., Missouri, who listed Nancy as "the widow Nancy Frost who has since married Nathaniel Bembrook." Nathaniel Bembrook was from Simpson Co., Kentucky. Evidently Nancy, after giving birth to Wyatt Bembrook, was no longer married to Nathaniel Bembrook and she is listed in the 1840 Census of Cass Co., MO.
