MARIE (MARY) DAUCKS (DAWKS, DAWK)
Marie (Mary) Daucks (Dawks, Dawk), a young maid, came to Virginia in September 1621 on the Warwick. Virginia Company records indicate that she was a 25-year-old widow and was a kinswoman of Mr. Slocum, a resident of Mayden Lane. On March 22, 1622, when the Indians attacked Edward Bennett's plantation in Warrespeak . . . , Marie (Mary) was killed (FER 309; VCR 571).
