George married Martha Davidson, of Ireland, and they had three sons and nine daughters. Joseph, the youngest son, married Elizabeth Hall, of Virginia, and settled in Montgomery Co., Mo., in 1836. Their children were - Charles, Albert G., Gordon C., Thomas, Andrew, William H., Joseph A., and George. The members of the Peery family are a genial, hospitable people, and highly esteemed by their neighbors and acquaintances. Dr. Thomas Peery, who died in 1875, was especially distinguished for his many excellent qualities, and his loss is deeply felt by the community in which he lived. (2) Peery, E. He married 9 Nov. 1848 Sarah Ryan who died 9 Feb. 1849. He married for his second wife 22 March 1854 Sarah J. Maupin, daughter of Daniel and Hannah Jameson Maupin. She was born 29 April 1820 in Albemarle Co., Va. Children of second wife: i Mollie B. b 9 Feb. 1855; m Thomas T. Travis. ii Fannie A. b 18 April 1856; m Romeo Shaner. iii Andrew M. b 28 March 1858. iv Lucie T. b 9 Jan. 1860; d 30 Nov. 1860. v Nannie Y. b 20 Oct. 1861; m James F. Hancock. vi S. Virginia b 10 May 1864; m Frank H. Fietge.
