HENRY PFEIFFER HAS MAJOR OPERATION
Henry Pfeiffer, 76, of northwest of Warsaw, underwent major abdominal operation Friday, August 30, 1935, at the McDonald Hospital. Henry Pfeiffer, aged 76, of near Atwood, died early Thursday morning at the McDonald Hospital. Death followed an operation Wednesday.
Mr. Pfeiffer was born March 1, 1859, in Ohio, the son of Augusta and Barbara Pfeiffer. His occupation was farming. His wife preceded him in death several years ago. (09-26-1935).

Crowe, Nappanee; Bertha Pfeiffer, Warsaw; Mrs. Margaret Hepler, Plymouth, Indiana; Mrs. Maud Alice LaRue of Lowell, Indiana; and Mrs. Barbara Ethel Kindle, Kalamazoo, Michigan; four sons, William C. Pfeiffer, Nappanee; Clarence E. Pfeiffer, Etna Green, Indiana; Jesse M. Pfeiffer, Warsaw; and Henry E. Pfeiffer; a half-sister Marie Elizabeth Pfeiffer, of South Bend; two brothers, Leonard Pfeiffer of Nappanee, and John Pfeiffer, Bremen; 28 grandchildren and one great-grand-child. Nappanee Indiana (1935) Sept. 27 - Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the South Union Church for Henry Pfeiffer, 76, who died Thursday at the McDonald Hospital at Warsaw, Indiana. The Rev. Ezra Mullett of the First Mennonite church will officiate and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Pfeiffer was born March 1, 1859, the son of August and Barbara Shunk Pfeiffer. His wife, Lydia Barth Pfeiffer preceeded him in death. He is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Mary E. HENRY PFEIFFER
Henry Pfeiffer, 76 years, 6 mo. and 25 days, passed away at the McDonald Hospital at 5:10 a.m. on September 26, 1935 of a heart attack. He was a patient at the hospital for the past four weeks. His condition became critical following a major operation Wednesday, September 25. The decendent, a retired farmer, the son of Augustus and Barbara Pfeiffer, was born at Holmes County, Ohio, March 1, 1859. His marriage to Lydia Barth took place on July 29, 1886 at Plymouth, Indiana. They made their home in Marshall County about four miles east of Bremen. In 1913, they moved from there to south of Nappanee, where they made their home until the death of his wife April 1, 1951. He moved to his present location in March of this year.
His wife and one daughter, Clara Edith, preceded him in death. The following children survive: Bertha Pfeiffer, Warsaw, Indiana; Mrs, Francis Hepler, Plymouth, Indiana; Mrs. Ross A LaRue, Lowell, Indiana; Mrs. Irvin Crowe and William Pfeiffer, Nappanee, Indiana; Clarence Pfeiffer; Etna Green, Indiana; Mrs. Earl R. Kindle, Kalamazoo, Michigan; Jesse Pfeiffer, Warsaw, Indiana; Ernest Pfeiffer, Wakarusa, Indiana.
Other relatives include two brothers: Leonard Pfeiffer, of Nappanee, Indiana and John Pfeiffer, Bremen, Indiana; and one half sister, Marie Elizabeth Pfeiffer, South Bend, Indiana. Twenty-eight grandchildren and one-great-grandchild also survive. The Rev. Ezra Mullett, pastor of the First Mennonite Church of Nappanee, will officiate. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
