Cause of death is pending. An autopsy is being held today at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Bremen, and was a lifetime resident. He was the manager of the meat department and former corporate officer of Woodies Super Market. He was married Sept. 16, 1944, to Margaret Funk, in Bremen. She survives along with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Carothers of Bremen; one daughter, Mrs. Sue Ellen Basset of West Lafayette; two brothers, Harold of Toledo, Ohio, and Louis of Mount Vernon, Tex.; and one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Pattee of Jacksonville, Fla. He was preceded in death by two sons, Bruce and David. He was a member of the American Legion Post 191 in Bremen, having served in World War II in the Army Air Force.
