  Notes	(1) The compiler is not certain that Isaac S. FROST Sr. was a son of John FROST, but Isaac is nevertheless shown here as a son of John, in order to stimulate further research. Five sons appear to have been included in John FROST's household in the 1830 census of Crosby Township, Hamilton County, OH, but only three sons appear to have been included in John's household in the 1840 census. In the 1840 census of Crosby Township, two FROST households, in addition to John FROST's household, are listed. Those two households were headed by Abram FROST and Isaac FROST, who would have then been about the right age to have been sons of John FROST. The compiler realizes that these facts, in and of themselves, do not prove that Abram and Isaac were sons of John FROST. (2) Ford, Henry A. & Kate B. Williams & Co., 1881, p. 317: Isaac L.[?] Frost was born in Harrison township, at Lee's creek, and worked on his father's farm till he was of age, when he began mercantile business in Venice, Butler county. In 1854 he bought Mr. A.M. Wakefield's stock of goods in New Haven, and continued business there until 1863, when he died. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and was a Democrat in politics. He was married to Miss Nancy Huchinson, who still survives him. They had nine children - Elsie A., now married to Aaron Shaw; Amos H., whose wife is Sarah J. Hank; Sarepta, the wife of William Pharas; Harriet E.; John S.; Elizabeth, now Mrs. Jasper N. Shaw; Nancy J.; Isaac S.; and Theodocia. [Note by compiler: The compiler has not found a listing of anyone named Isaac FROST in any U.S. census of Harrison Township, Hamilton County, OH, during the period from 1820 through 1930. The compiler has not confirmed Isaac's purported ties to Harrison Township, although the compiler has confirmed that Isaac had ties to Crosby Township. Harrison Township and Crosby Township are adjoining townships in Hamilton County, OH.] (3) A household headed by Isaac FROST is listed in the 1840 census of Crosby Township, Hamilton County, OH. Listed in Isaac's household are one free white male between 10 and 15 years of age; one free white male between 20 and 30 years of age; one free white female under 5 years of age; and one free white female between 20 and 30 years of age. Assuming that Isaac is the free white male listed in the 1840 census as then being between 20 and 30 years of age, he would have been born between 1810 and 1820, according to the 1840 census. Assuming that Isaac's wife is the free white female listed in the 1840 census as then being between 20 and 30 years of age, she would have been born between 1810 and 1820, according to the 1840 census. Assuming that the other person in Isaac's household are childre of Isaac and/or his wife, those children would have consisted of one son (which son would have been born between 1825 and 1830, according to the 1840 census) and one daughter (which daughter would have been born between 1835 and 1840, according to the 1840 census).
