    • (1) Delafield, John Ross, "The Van Brugh Family," New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, vol. 66 (1935), p. 168:

Reynier. As a bachelor of Haarlem he was on 4 May 1642 betrothed to Agnetha Greve, also living there, and they were married 20 May 1642. She must have died before 27 April 1653, for on that day at Haarlem he was betrothed to Catharina Pieters van Gellmuyden of Coningsbergen and married her at Haarlem on May thirteenth following. In this entry he was described as linen packer 25 years of age. The banns were published at Amsterdam. He was a legatee under the will of his sister Barbara in 1664. On 17 April 1664 he formed a partnership for trade with New Amsterdam with his brother Jan and Seignior Gerrit Suyck, Derck Croon, Jacobus van Noortgau and Abraham Janss. Of these Suyck and Croon had been partners of his uncle, and Jan was in Holland on the visit of that year. The capital put in was 16,000 guilders of which Jan and Reynier contributed three-eighths or 6,000 guilders. (Archives of Amsterdam. Protocol of Notary Hendrick Schaeff. Invent. No. 1371, Fol. 61 verso.)
