James Wm. Lindsey Jr., Caleb, Joshua and Carlton all had land grants in Christian Co. Ky. . . . Between 1800 and 1805 these brothers had all made their way to Christian Co. Ky. They are on the 1810 census of Christian Co.

Assuming that the other persons listed in Joshua's household are children of James and/or his wife, those persons would have consisted of 5 sons (4 of which sons would have been born between 1800 and 1810, and 1 of which sons would have been born between 1794 and 1800, according to the 1810 census) and 1 daughter (which daughter would have been born between 1794 and 1800, according to the 1810 census).

      (5) Perrin, William Henry, Counties of Christian and Trigg, Kentucky, Chicago, IL and Louisville, KY: F. A. Battey Publishing Co., 1884 - Part II, History of Trigg County, pp. 11-12:

As early as the year 1800 the most populous and thrifty settlements in the county were on Donaldson Creek. The most prominent families who resided there at that time were those of John Futrell, Shadrach Futrell, Drury Bridges, Josiah Outland, Enos Outland, Joel Cohoon, James Lawrence, Basil Holland, Nathan Futrell, James Dixon, Hiram Dixon, John Wilson, Sr., John Wilson, Jr., Ben Wilson, James Wilson, John Craig, James, Joshua, Caleb and Carlton Lindsay, [and] "Larry" Killabrew, the majority of whom came from North Carolina.

[Note by compiler: As of the year 1800, the settlements on Donaldson Creek were located in Christian County, KY, but as of 27 January 1820, those settlements became located in Trigg County, KY when Trigg County, KY was formed from Christian and Caldwell Counties, KY.]

      (6) Three groups of LINDSEYs/LINDSAYs lived in the Christian/Trigg County, KY area at roughly the same time. Two of these groups were cousins of each other - one group descended from James William LINDSEY, Sr. (b. Abt. 1735, d. Aft. 1800), and one group descended from his brother, Caleb LINDSEY (b. Bet. 1725-1730, d. Abt. Feb 1785). The third group descended from Charles Alfred Caleb LINDSAY (b. 1732, d. 1829).
