- (1) Zabriskie, George Olin, "Christian Barentsen Van Horn and Some of His Earlier Descendants," The American Genealogist, Vol. 43, No. 4 (January 1968), pp. 193, 206:
Johannes (John) Van Horn, son of Barent Christiansen Van Horn . . . by his wife Geertje Dircks, was born 5 Feb. 1692 at Minkaque. Williams said that he lived at Hackensack, N.J., for a few years before going to Bucks County, but this is improbable. He died 15 Feb. 1758 in Lower Dublin Township, Philadelphia County. John married 20 April 1718 at Philadelphia First Presbyterian Church, Rebecca Vandergrist, daughter of Johannes Vandergrist and Neeltje Volkers. The sequence and place of birth of the children are uncertain.

ii. Eleanor, m. 17 June 1737 at Philadelphia First Presbyterian Church, Joseph Johnson or Jaxon (church record).
iii. Catherine, m. Jacob Johnson.
iv. Jane, m. Bernard Vandergrist.

vi. (Perhaps) Helena.
vii. (Perhaps) Jean.
