      After his [John, Jr.'s] brothers Thomas, Hurr and Henry Mills sold their land on 27 April 1753, they received their certificates of Society of Friends membership 10 days later (7th day, 5th month 1753). They were in North Carolina four months later when their certificate was received on the 1st day, 9th month 1753. Cane Creek Monthly Meeting was in Orange County (present-day Alamance County) North Carolina. Cane Creek runs the entire distance from west to east across the southern part of Alamance County.
