AT REST
Ellen Frost, [daughter of] Enoch and Eliza Morgan, was born in Lee, Iowa, March 30, 1842. Was married to William Frost, March 17, 1874, in This County and has since made her home in and near Unionville, Missouri.
The husband and three children preceded her in death. Five children are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother: Mrs. Fannie Bradshaw of Kansas City, Mrs. Allie Shirley of Unionville, Missouri; James Frost of Tangier, Oklahoma; Mrs. Nannie Korns of near Unionville, and William Frost of Des Moines, Iowa.
She also leaves a grandson, Joe Frost whom she has loved and cared for as her own since his infancy. She passed from labor to reward July 30, 1919, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Korns, whose home has been her home for the past ten years. All her children were with her in her sickness to help care for her.
All was done that they and kind and loving neighbors could do but it was of no avail and after over three weeks of constant suffering the Lord called her and said, " It is enough come up higher".
She bore her suffering as only a Christian can and she trusted in him who doeth all things well, having been a member of the Christian Church for a number of years, and nothing she enjoyed more than to hear the Gospel preached. While our hearts are sad and lonely and mother's place is vacant and never can be filled, we have her loving counsel to guide us and we know our earthly loss is her Heavenly gain.
With our hearts sad and aching and bitter tears unshead [sic], we will meekly bow under the chastening rod and say, " Not our will but thy will, oh Lord, be done".
The remains of dear mother were taken to the Union Church July 31, where her funeral was preached at 3 o'clock p.m. by her Pastor Rev. J. Roy Wright. She was laid to rest beside the father and children to sleep until Jesus bids her rise. Oh, may we so live that we may meet as an unbroken family around the great white throne of God.
