      NOTES:

Jennett's parents emigrated to New Brunswick, Canada; her father going first in 1822. Mary and the children followed in 1832. They traveled by sailing ship, spending six weeks at sea.

From New Brunswick, the family moved to Philadelphia in 1825, then to Cincinnati, OH in 1827. In 1839, they moved again, this time to IN, where Jennett and her husband met and were married.

Jennett was the seventh child born to the MANNs. The MANN children were as follows:

      Margaret MANN (b. 15 MAR 1809 d. 11 APR 1861. Never married)

William MANN (b. 23 MAR 1811 d. 22 JAN 1900) Both Margaret and William are buried at Carmel Cem. in Hanover, IN.

James MANN (b. 27 MAY 1813 in SCOTLAND; m. Eliza Jane __?__; date and place of James' death is unknown; however, Eliza Jane is buried at Carmel Cem. She was born 1804 in Orange Co. NY; died 15 APR 1881, Jefferson Co. IN. Compiler found James, Jr. and Eliza on 1850 census for Republican Twp. William MANN, James Jr.'s brother was enumerated in James and Eliza's household, as were Isaac HIGBY, Anthony HIGBY, Margaret HARDY and Robert HOLLAND.)

James and Eliza were found on the 1860 census for Hanover Twp. William MANN was the only other person enumerated in their household.

      Robert MANN (b. 12 MAY 1813 d. 13 MAR 1872)

Andrew MANN (b. 19 MAR 1819 in Scotland d. 2 JAN 1884, Sterling KS). Compiler found Andrew MANN in Saluda Twp., Jefferson Co. IN in 1850. Enumerated in his household were "Margaret MANN (40, b. SCOTLAND) and Robert (35, b. SCOTLAND). Andrew was enumerated in Hanover Twp., Jefferson Co. in 1860. At that time, Margaret MANN, age 50 and Ellen BLACK, age 22, a "Domestic" were listed in his household. Apparently Andrew did not marry until sometime after 1860, and his sister Margaret lived with him at least until 1860. Andrew married Martha IRVIN (b. 13 JAN 1823) sometime after 1860. Martha died in Sterling KS, 26 JUN 1879. Both Andrew and Martha have stones at Carmel Cemetery near Hanover, IN. This couple had no children, and most of Andrew's estate went to his sister, Jennett MANN PARK and to the United Presbyterian Church of Sterling, KS, where Andrew was a charter member.

About 1884, Jennett MANN PARK and her husband, Thomas PARK, moved to a 160 acre farm near Sterling, KS, which was given to Jennett
by her brother Andrew. The PARKs remained on that farm until their deaths.

Mary MANN (b. 17 JUL 1821 in SCOTLAND d. data unknown)

      Jennett MANN (b. 1824, New Brunswick. m. 28 DEC 1842 d.16 Feb 1902, Sterling, KS)

      Elizabeth MANN (b. 4 JUN 1828 d. 22 JUL 1833)

Ebenezer MANN (b. 22 MAR 1832 d. 20 DEC 1864) Ebenezer appeared in the home of his parents, James and Mary MANN on the 1850 census. His birthplace was given as "OH." Ebenezer served in the Union Army during the C.W. (3rd Indiana Cavalry), and died of "consumption" reportedly contracted while serving at the front. He is buried at Carmel Cemetery, Hanover Twp., Jefferson Co., IN.
