Foster V. Annis and Ernest O. Annis Die Only 48 Hours Apart
Two brothers who have been active in public and civic affairs of this community for many years, died within 48 hours of each other last week. Foster V. Annis, 65 years old died unexpectedly from a heart attack Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 7, while working in the yard at the home he had recently purchased on North Maryland Street. His older brother, Ernest O. Annis, 71 years old, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in Community Hospital after an illness of a week. . . .

Ernest O. Annis was born in Bremen Nov. 16, 1892, a son of Charles E. and Emma V. (Balsley) Annis and was married in Bremen Feb. 9, 1919, to Lillie M.Cline, who survives.
A lifelong resident of this community, he was a member of Grace Evangelical United Brethren church, a member and past president of the Kiwanis club of Bremen, a past Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis, a veteran of World War I, and a former teacher in the Bremen Public Schools. He also served as German township trustee for eight years and for the last eight years has been director of public welfare for Marshall county.
Survirring with the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Leeper and Mrs. John (Barbara Jean) Windham of Bremen; three brothers, Walter of South Bend, Arthur of Rockford, Ill., and Howard of Waukegan, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Shirk of South Bend, Mrs Helen Radcliffe of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Geneva Molebash of Dewart Lake near Milford, and Miss Leah Annis of Bremen. There are four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Grece E.U.B. church with the pastor, Rev. Richard Eisinger, officiating. Burial was in the Bremen cemetery.
