. . . CALEB [LINDSEY] (b 1767, prob. Brunswick Co. Va., died Nov. 1826 Clark Co. Ark., but evidently lived in Pulaski Co.). . . .

Now, my James Wm. Lindsey SR, as noted above, did have a son Caleb, born 1767 (prob. Brunswick Co. Va.), died 1826 Ark. He married Sarah Young, and they left many offspring in Ark. and Texas. I could give you a pretty complete rundown on this bunch. This Caleb b 1767 had sons John Young Lindsey (b 1800 Christian Co. Ky., d ca 1865 Saline Co. Ark.) and Caleb, (b 1807, surely in Christian Co. Ky., d 1856 Ashley Co. Ark., having married 1837 in Saline Co. Ark. to Rebecca Brillhart). [Some descendants of this line insist that Caleb b 1767 and his son Caleb b 1807 were actually named "William Caleb Lindsey."]

      (2) Perrin, William Henry, Counties of Christian and Trigg, Kentucky, Chicago, IL and Louisville, KY: F. A. Battey Publishing Co., 1884 - Part II, History of Trigg County, pp. 11-12:

As early as the year 1800 the most populous and thrifty settlements in the county were on Donaldson Creek. The most prominent families who resided there at that time were those of John Futrell, Shadrach Futrell, Drury Bridges, Josiah Outland, Enos Outland, Joel Cohoon, James Lawrence, Basil Holland, Nathan Futrell, James Dixon, Hiram Dixon, John Wilson, Sr., John Wilson, Jr., Ben Wilson, James Wilson, John Craig, James, Joshua, Caleb and Carlton Lindsay, [and] "Larry" Killabrew, the majority of whom came from North Carolina.

[Note by compiler: As of the year 1800, the settlements on Donaldson Creek were located in Christian County, KY, but as of 27 January 1820, those settlements became located in Trigg County, KY when Trigg County, KY was formed from Christian and Caldwell Counties, KY.]
