[Note by compiler: As this source indicates, the information set forth in this Note (1) is conjecture and should not be considered as fact.]
Susannah Burgess was born circa 1655 in Isle of Wight Co VA.
On 4/20/1669 Susannah Burgess is mentioned in Surry Co VA records where her mother, Mary Skinner, acknowledged receipt of Susannah's legacy from her deceased father, John Burgess. Did Susannah surrender her inheritance to her mother to preclude her perspective husband confiscating her real estate? As a husband could legally assume ownership of his wife's property, this seems like an ingenious solution which would secure these holdings for Susannah.
In about 1675 in Isle of Wight Co VA, Susannah married Robert Bracewell b. 1650 Isle of Wight Co VA. Robert and Suzanne lived their lives in Isle of Wight County, raising at least five children.
On 3/27/1696, Robert named his "loving wife Susannah" as executor of his will and is believed to have died shortly thereafter in Isle of Wight Co VA. Susannah lived on the family plantation in Isle of Wight Co VA until her death after 10/1714. . . .

The probate record of Susannah Burgess Braswell proves that her son William was alive and well in Isle of Wight in 1732 and couldn't possibly be the William Braswell who died in Chowan County, North Carolina in 1721.
Susannah's husband Robert Bracewell Jr. sold his inheritance before they married and left a Power of Attorney to his "loving wife" March 27, 1696, giving her sole power over the 100 acres Susannah inherited from her mother Mary.
