    • (1) Frost, Norman Seaver, Frost Genealogy in Five Families, West Newton, MA: Frost Family Association of America, 1926, p. 283:

      21 JOHN FROST, son of John and Rose, married in 1674, SARAH, daughter of Roger Kelly of the Isles of Shoals. He died at Star Island in 1716, leaving widow Sarah, and four children as follows:

      JOHN, presented at court for "abusing his grandfather, Roger Kelly." (John Frost of Wells, mariner, and wife, Abigail, who sold a house and an acre of land in Wells in 1757, was probably son of this John.)

      SAMUEL m. ANN, daughter of Edward Cate. They lived in New Castle in 1723. Feb. 10, 1755, Jane Frost sold to Samuel Frost, minor, nine acres, originally a part of the estate of her grandfather, Edward Cate of Portsmouth, deceased. [Note by compiler: In the compiler's opinion, there is insufficient evidence to support the proposition that Samuel FROST married Ann CATE, a daughter of Edward CATE.]

      ITHMAR left a daughter and only heir, who m. ARTHUR RANDALL, of Gosport, N.H.

      JOHN [FROST], ±22 in 1674, fisherman, Isles of Shoals. He m. ab. 1673 Sarah Kelly. Liv. on Hog Isl., later on Star Isl. List 309. Will 22 June 1713-7 Mar. 1718-9. Ch: John, in 1705 was helping Elizabeth Mainwaring make a boarder pay, in ct. in 1707 for abusing his grf. Kelly. D. bef. 1713, leaving s. John, unident. (List 298, p. 34, col. 3, 1724). Samuel, Newcastle, in 1719, took out adm. on est. of his grf. John of York. Lists 315b, 316. He mar. Anne Carter (2), both liv. in 1726 when they sold land her father bot in 1670. She was his widow in 1739 and liv. Portsm. 1744. Ch: Mary, bp. at Newcastle 14 May 1710, It is undet. whether they had other ch., as Cater Frost, Gosport fisherman in 1729, m. Mary Urine in Greenland 9 May 1723, Samuel, mariner, of Portsm. So. Ch. 1744, 1755, or John, who m. 5 Jan. 1720-7 Mary Cate (1), who had d. by 1732 leav. 3 ch., of whom Elizabeth, bp. 1729, in her will 1755 named half-br. Cater and mother Martha (presum. the d. of Sampson Doe [3]), and her uncle Samuel Frost, mariner. Ithamar, s. Philip, bp. 14 May 1710. Only surv. ch. Sarah m. Arthur Randall of Gosport. Mary, m. William Fox (6).

      Imprimis I Give & Bequeath unto my Dear & Loving Wife Sarah ffrost during her Naturall Life if shee dye my widdow ye free & Sole use Income benifits & profits of All & Singular my Estate as well reall as prsonall on this Island & Elsewhere but if it so happen that shee Marry my Will is that my Executr pay her fourty pounds Viz twenty pounds in household Stuff Such as Shee Shall chose & twenty pounds in Mony & my Will is that if my Sd wife dye my widdow that her funerall Charges be Defrayed out of my Estate

      Item I Give & Bequeath all ye remaining part of my Estate not hereby Disposed of having given my Son in Law William ffox a Deed of Gift of ye Land that his house stands on: Viz my land in Yorke & Elsewhere & all & singular my Stages Stage rooms, boat if any bee moring moring places flakes flakrooms that was formerly mr Phebeans that I bought of Capt Jno Lane together with all & Singular ye rights priviledges appertenances belonging to ye fishery & fishing places to bee Equally Divided between my Sd Two sons & Sd Son in Law to them & to their Heires & Assignes for Ever my son Ita mars part & Interest therein to bee to ye heires of his body for Ever only & as for ye division of ye flak room my Will is that William ffox have his part next Capt Diamonds Decd & So a third part of ye brds [?] from Sd Diamond to Jno Muchemores & I Doe appoint my Son Samll ffrost my Sole Executor of this my last will & testatament hereby disannulling all other in witness & Confirmation hereof I have here unto Set my hand & Seale ye 22d of June Anno Dei 1713.
