Woman hurt in collision with semi on Van Buren

An 86-year-old Kremlin woman was transported to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center Wednesday after colliding with a semi.

Helen L. Frost told police she turned northbound from Broadway onto Van Buren when she hit the broadside of an oilfield tanker truck. The force of the impact threw her vehicle into an adjacent parking lot.

Exterior tubing on the oilfield trailer was bent and its axle was broken. The front of Frost's 2013 Ford Escape was crushed and part of its windshield was missing.

An Enid Police Department report listed several non-incapacitating head, arm and leg injuries for Frost. She was taken to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center by Life EMS.

The semi's owner is listed as Fitzgerald Trucking. Its driver, 33-year-old Brandon Rowland, of Lexington, was not injured.

The crash occurred at 2 p.m. A police investigator listed the cause of the collision as Frost's failure to stop at a traffic signal.

The accident caused some traffic issues on the busy street until the semi could be moved.

      Life Is Eternal

"Life is eternal," the good Lord said.
So do not think of your loved one as dead.
For death is only a stepping stone,
to a beautiful life we have never known.
A place where God promised man he would be
eternally happy and safe and free.
A wonderful land we live anew
when our journey on earth is over and through.
So trust in God and doubt Him never
for all who love Him live forever.
      And while we cannot understand
just let our Lord take your hand.
For when death's angel comes to call
"God is so great and we're so small."
And there is nothing you need fear
for faith in God makes all things clear.
