      ROY V. PFEIFFER

      April 17, 1927--September 17, 1994

      Nappanee - Roy V. Pfeiffer, 67, of 72800 County Road 13, formerly of Lombard, Illinois, died at 10:43 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend. Mr. Pfeiffer retired in 1987 from the United States Postal Service. He was born April 17, 1927, in Nappanee and was a Lombard resident from 1962 to 1992, returning to Nappanee. On July 29, 1956, he married Marilyn Miller. She died July 12, 1986. Surviving are two daughters. Janice Brody of Villa Park, Illinois, and Beth Pfeiffer of Madison, Wisconsin; a son, Stephen of Redmond, Washington; three grandchildren; and four brothers, Henry of San Bernardino, California; John and Wade, both of Nappanee, and Gordon of Alexandria, La. He was a graduate of Indiana University and was an Army veteran. He was a member of Turkey Creek Church of the Brethren, Nappanee, and formerly attended York Center Church of the Brethren, Lombard. Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Thompson & Yoder Funeral Home.

      Cremation will take place. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, Indiana. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, where Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion will conduct an honors service. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County of the American Cancer Society.

      Roy V. Pfeiffer

      NAPPANEE - Roy V. Pfeiffer, 67, of 72800 County Road 13 died at 10:43 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 1994, at St. Joseph Medical Center in South Bend. He had been a patient there since Monday and had been ill for one and one-half years.

      On April 17, 1927, at Nappanee he was born to William and Nellie (Faulkner) Pfeiffer. He was a graduate of Nappanee High School and Indiana University. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Germany.

      He had lived in Lombard, Ill., from 1962-92 and then had moved back to Nappanee. He had retired from the United States Postal Service in 1987.

      MISS MILLER SAYS VOWS IN CHURCH

      Nappanee, Indiana - At the close of the morning worship service Sunday (07-30-1956) in Nappanee Church of the Brethren, marriage vows were exchanged by Miss Marilyn Miller and Roy Pfeiffer, who had attended the worship service with their attendants, Miss Elaine Johnson, Paxton, Illinois, was the bride's maid of honor, and Wayne Gablin, LaGrange, Illinois, the bridegroom's best man.

      The pastor, Rev. S. W. Loungnecker, read the wedding service in the presence of the congeration. Mrs. Longenecker played the organ selections. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ralph Miller, 602 E. Market St., Nappanee, and her husband is the son of Mrs. William Pfeiffer, Nappanee.

      The bride was attired in a street-length dress of white nylon trimmed in lace, with which she wore all white accessories. Her small bouquet was of white roses centered with orchid gladioli. following the ceremony a dinner was served to 40 guests, including relatives and a few close friends in the bride's home.

      Mr. and Mrs. Pfeiffer were both graduated from Nappanee High School. Mrs. Pfeiffer was graduated from Manchester College, North Manchester, Indiana. Mr. Pfeiffer was graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington. The couple will reside in LaGrange, Illinois. (07-27-1956).
