      MRS. CARL DAWALT

      Dixie Ann Dawalt: (Etna Green) 22, who died at 1 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 1959 in Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio--where she underwent surgery and was a patient 11 days, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Millwood Chapel. The body will be taken from the Wright Funeral Home, Nappanee, to the chapel at 1 p.m. Rev. Richard D. Sellers, pastor of Grace Brethren Church, Clayton, Ohio, will officiate, Assisted by Rev. Kenneth Marken, Pastor of Millwood Chapel. Burial will be in the Etna Green Cemetery. Mrs. Dawalt was born June 8, 1936, near Etna Green. She married Carl D. Dawalt March 20, 1955, in Nappanee. He is stationed with the Air Force in Columbus. Survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Whitehead of near Etna Green, a half-brother, Owen Senff of Nappanee, four half-sisters, Mrs. Reba Vanette of Bremen; Mrs. Maxine Ringenberg of Nappanee; Mrs. Thelma Borders of Winamac, and Mrs. Catherine Silvius of Etna Green.

      FORMER DIXIE WHITEHEAD DIES AT AGE OF 22

      Funeral services were held Tuesday (05-03-1959) at Millwood Church, for Mrs. Carl D. Dawalt, the former Dixie Ann Whitehead, 22, who died May 30, in Ohio State University Hospital at Columbus, seven days after surgery. She had been seriously ill for two weeks. Rev. Richard D. Sellers of Gray Brethren Clayton, Ohio read the rites, assisted by Rev. Kennedy Marken of Millwood. Burial at Etna Green Cemetery in Indiana.

      Mrs Dawalt was born July 8, 1936 at Millwood, the daughter of Ralph and Ethel Hammon Whitehead. She was married to Carl Dawalt at Nappanee March 20, 1955. They have been living in Columbus.

      Other survivors include a half brother, Owen Senife, of Nappanee and a half-sister Reba Vane, Bremen; Maxine Ringenberg of Nappanee; Thelma Boreers, Winamac and Katherine Silvine, Etna Green. She was a member of Millwood Church and had graduated from Nappanee High School in 1954.
