    • (1) Zabriskie, George Olin, "The Jan Cornelisen Van Hoorn/Van Horne Family," The American Genealogist, Vol. 47, No. 1 (January 1971), pp. 50, 51:

Anna Maria/Mary Van Horne, daughter of Abraham Van Horne . . . by his wife Maria Provoost, was born in New York and baptized there in the Dutch Church, 28 Jan. 1702, witnesses: David Provoost Sr. and Anna Maria Van Horn (child's maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother). She died in August 1727 and was buried at the Chapel of the Fort of New York. She had married in 1721, as his second wife, Governor William Burnet, born at The Hague, March 1688, son of Bishop Gilbert Burnet (1643-1715) by his wife Mary Scott whom he had married in 1687, and the godfather at William's baptism was said to have been William of Orange, shortly to become William III, King of England. Gilbert Burnet was Bishop of Salisbury. From 17 Sept. 1720 to 15 April 1728 William Burnet was Governor of New York and New Jersey and then became Governor of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He died at Boston, 7 Sept. 1729, leaving a will dated 6 Dec. 1727, proved in New York 19 Sept. 1729 (NYW 2:349 f.), in which he mentions children William, Mary and Thomas by late wife Mary Van Horne and appoints their maternal grandparents as executors and guardians to the children. His first wife, whom he married in 1712, was Mary Stanhope, died 1714, apparently without issue, daughter of the Dean of Canterbury, George Stanhope (1660-1728), by his wife Olivia Cotton, on whom see Dictionary of National Biography 18:897-899; on Burnet, ibid. 3: 404 f.; also Dictionary of American Biography 3:295; Twentieth Century Biographical Dictionary, vol. 1, s.v. Burnet; Appleton's Cyclopaedia of American Biography 1:457 f., says he d. 7 Sept. 1728, but even so, has him made Governor of New Hampshire in 1730. DNB knows only the first wife; DAB, only the second. The places of birth of the three children are undetermined.
