His parents were Henry and Lydia Barth Pfeiffer. He had been a resident of the Nappanee area for 22 years. On November 2, 1918 he was married to Nellie L. Faulkner in Plymouth, who now survives. Other survivors include five sons, Lieut. Henry A. Pfeiffer, stationed with the Army Air Force in Japan; Roy W., a student, at Indiana University and John, Gordon and Wade at home; Three daughters, Mrs. Hilda Smith, Mrs. Mary Jean Hall; Miss Rachael Pfeiffer, all of Nappanee; three brothers, Clarence, Mentone; Jesse, Warsaw; and Ernest, Wakarusa; five sisters, Miss Bertha Pfeiffer, Etna Green; Mrs. Margaret Hepler, Plymouth; Mrs. Alice Larue, Lowell; Mrs. Mary Crowe, Nappanee, and Ethel Kindle, of Kalamazoo; and three grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Pfeiffer residence. Funeral services will be held in the Sandridge church near Bourbon and burial will be in the cemetary there. Rev. H. I. Funeral services will be held at Sandridge Church, near Bourbon, at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. H. I. Shearer, pastor of the Pentecostal Church of Bourbon, in charge. Friends may call at the residence in Nappanee until noon Sunday. Burial will be at Sandridge Cemetery. (02-02-1950).
