      Services for George Samuel Sheley, 77, Perry, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home here with the Rev. James Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Buster Cemetery northeast of Perry.

      Mr. Sheley died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1993, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

      He was born Jan. 7, 1916, at Seneca, the son of George Franklin and Sadie Emmaline Maze Sheley.

      A Perry resident since 1961, Mr. Sheley was a World War II Army veteran who had served in Europe.

      He was employed by McEntire Brothers Inc., Topeka, for 35 years before retiring in 1981.

      Mr. Sheley married Frances Irene Frost on Dec. 24, 1941, at Iola. She survives of the home.

      A son, Roy, died Sept. 9, 1987.

      Survivors include six daughters, Maureen Groves, Topeka, Georgia Leeman, Topeka, Wilma Brooks, Meriden, Peggy Nicholson, Barnesville, Ga., Debbie Robb, Perry, and Kay Brooks, Perry; three sons, Edgar, John and Ray, all of Perry; a sister, Blanche Holt, Hoyt; 24 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
