Province McCormick, d. March 3, 1826; lived at "Soldier's Retreat", Clarke County. He served in the War of 1812 with the rank of Colonel. He married a Miss Davenport of Jefferson County, and had a family of five sons and two daughters, all of whom moved to the West.
