  Notes	(1) Source: Leigh Hay . (2) Peninsula Daily News, October 8, 2003: Gordon Howard Hay June 28, 1916 -- Oct. 6, 2003 Sequim-born Gordon Howard Hay died of cancer in his Bremerton residence. He was 87. The son of Angus and Vesta (Messer) Hay, he participated in sports at Sequim High School and graduated in 1934. He was the second Eagle Scout at Camp Parsons on Hood Canal. Following high school, he worked at the Sequim newspaper established and operated by his parents. During the Depression, he worked in Civilian Conservation Corps camps. He served with the Navy during World War II. He married Charlotte Hodgdon in Port Angeles in 1946. She preceded him in death. Mr. Hay, who was a printer and writer, owned and operated Quick Print in Port Angeles. He was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, and supported Port Angeles-Victoria tourism. He retired from the Bremerton Sun. He belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Masonic Lodge in both Sequim and Bremerton. He was also a member of Disabled American Veterans, Sequim-Dungeness Museum and Master Gardeners. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Robin and Louie Lakenes of Brinnon; brother Angus Hay of Lake Placid, Fla.; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Services: Friday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m., graveside service in Sequim View Cemetery, 1505 Sequim-Dungeness Way. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2 p.m., memorial in Brinnon Community Church.
