She is reported to be the mother of his five children, though the first birth recorded in the Reihen registers was not until eleven years after their marriage. If she accompanied Hans Georg Hertzel on the voyage across the Atlantic, she may have died en route; if so, the three others in his party would have been some of his children. (2) In the above source, the date of Hans Georg HERTZEL's marriage to Anna Margaretha CONRAD is given as "10 1m 1703;" this means that this marriage took place on March 10, 1703. Under the Julian calendar, which was in use until 1752, the year began on March 25th; March was the first month.
