      Veteran of Civil War Answers Final Call

      Georg Ringle, one of the pioneer resjdents of Bremen and a life long resident of this community, died Monday at the home of his son, Charles Ringle, at Niles, Mich. He had been in frail health for many months, and had made his home with his son during the the last three years.

      Mr. Ringle was the son of John and Catherine Ringle and was born near Bremen April 3, 1843. He was eighty-four years, four months, and twenty-six days old at the time of his death Monday.

      At an early age he was left an orphan, and made his home with his uncle, Jacob Beyler, in Bremen. At the beginning of the of the Civil War he enlisted with Company K of the 29th Indiana regiment and saw active service in many battles. For six months he was a prisoner in the famous Libby Prison. His army service continued until the end of the war.

      Soon after hls return home, he was united in marriage with Susan Hepler. Six children were born to them, the eldest of whom died in infancy. He was an active member of the United Brethren Church. Mrs. Ringle preeded him in death April 29, 1912.

      Surviving are his three sons and two daughters?H. Edward Ringle of North Liberty, Charles M. and Lee G. Ringle of Niles, Mrs. Agnes Youngs and Mrs. Laura Culp of Ann Arbor, Mich. There are also six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Caroline Cline of Alva, Oklahoma.

      Funeral services were held this afternoon in Grace United Brethren Church in Bremen. Rev. C. A. Sickafoose, pastor of the church, officiating. The body was brought here after a brief service at Niles today. Burial was in the Bremen cemetery.
