      Richard Beeson [Sr.] and his wife, Charity Grubb (b. 9th Mo. 29, 1687 in Brandywine, New Castle, Del/PA d. 11th Mo., 27, 1761 in Guilford Co., NC) were very well-known and active members (and missionaries) of the Quaker church. Charity Grubb was the dtr. of John and Frances (Vane) Grubb. Richard and Charity helped form Hopewell Meeting in Virginia and were among the earliest members of New Garden Meeting in Guilford Co., NC. They both remained in Guilford Co. until their deaths.

      Richard Beeson and Charity Grubb had the following children:

      4. Phebe Beeson m. John Harris, son of William Harris at E. Nottingham Mtg., PA.

      5. Edward Beeson d. 1746 m. Martha (poss. Martha Mendenhall dtr of John and Susannah (Pierson) Mendenhall.

      6. Benjamin Beeson d. 14 Jun 1794 m. Elizabeth Hunter (prob. dtr of John and Margaret (Albin) Hunter).

      (10th Month 1684 - 1 Jan 1777)

      Whereas I Richard Beeson of Deep River in guildford county North Carolina being far advanst in years and knowing the uncertainly of life and certainty of death do therefore mark this as follows first I recommend my soul to the Lord and my body to the Earth to be berried in a Christian like manner at the discresion of my executors hereafter to be named and as touching such worldly substances where withal that it hath pleased the Lord to bless me with this life which I depose thereof in the following manner and form. First of all I order all my just debts and funeral charges to be paid by my executors hereafter to be named 2d I give to my grandson Stephanas Haworth two hundred acres of the land I now live on including all improvement to him his heirs and assigns and forevermore. 3dly I give to my two sons Benjamin Beeson and Isaac Beeson and to their heirs and assigns the remaining part of the said tract of land to each and equal part and for Benjamin to have the East and Isaac to have the West end. 4thly I give to my son Benjamin two fether beds and all the fether furniture belonging thereunto. I give to my son Isaac the feather bed I now ly upon and all the furniture belonging thereunto. 5thly it is my will that the remaining part of my moveable estate shall be equally divided among all my children to wit Benjamin Isaac Pheby and Charity in the best and most suitable manner it can be done by my executors. 6thly and further I do give to all or any of my issue that doth or lay claim and hereafter to any right of heirship to each and severally one shilling sterling and no more to be paid by my executors hereafter to be named. 7thly I ordain and constitute and appoint my two sons Benjamin & Isaac to be and sole executors of this my last Will and Testament hearby utterly disallowing and revoking and making void all other and former wills testament and leagacies by me maid rectifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hearunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 29 day of the month called march in the year 1775.
